Where are you in your book journey?

Every book starts somewhere. Find the stage that sounds like you to see the recommended steps, the services that help, and a clear next action. No jargon, and no pressure.

Stage 1

I only have an idea

You don't need a manuscript to start. At this stage the goal is to turn an idea into a clear plan: who the book is for, what it covers and how it will be written, whether by you with support or with a ghostwriter.

Recommended steps

  1. 1Write down the core idea in a few sentences: what the book is about and who it is for.
  2. 2Decide whether you want to write it yourself with guidance, or work with a ghostwriter.
  3. 3Shape an outline or chapter plan so the project has a clear structure.
  4. 4Set a realistic timeline and budget before any writing starts.
Talk through my idea

No files needed. Tell us about the idea and we'll suggest a sensible first step.

Stage 2

I’m writing my book

You're drafting, or partway through. Feedback now can save a lot of rewriting later, and it helps to plan the publishing steps early so nothing is rushed at the end.

Get support while I write

Share a sample chapter if you have one, or simply describe where you are.

Stage 3

My manuscript is finished

Congratulations, a finished draft is a big milestone. Now the work is making it read professionally. Editing usually happens in layers, from the big picture down to the final typo check.

Recommended steps

  1. 1Take a short break, then read the manuscript through once more yourself.
  2. 2Start with developmental (structural) editing if the story or structure needs work.
  3. 3Move on to line editing and copyediting for clarity, consistency and style.
  4. 4Finish with a proofread after the book is formatted.

Stage 4

I’m ready to publish

Your text is edited and you're ready to turn it into a real book. This stage covers the cover, the interior formatting, your book description and metadata, and uploading to the stores.

Stage 5

My book is already published

Your book is out. The next challenge is helping the right readers find it, with honest marketing that follows platform rules. No one can guarantee sales, but a consistent plan makes a real difference.
