Our approach
The cover is built around one close-cropped face, half lost in shadow. The portrait is rendered in black and white, so only the amber eye and the red lips carry colour, giving the design an immediate focal point and a dark, romantic mood.
The title is set in tall, condensed capitals in a soft blush tone, large enough to read clearly at thumbnail size on a retailer page. An italic serif tagline (“She was everything he desired—and everything he should have feared.”) adds the story's hook, and the author name sits at the foot of the cover in widely spaced capitals.
